I loved creating the illustrations for this book. I wanted them to resemble ancient silk paintings. I used paper cutouts for the characters. They were created on paper that was dyed with orange pekoe tea. I used different filters to create the finished illustrations. Scroll through these photos to see the evolution of the illustration from start to finish… A photograph of the scene, an animation filter added, a texture filter added, and finally a colour adjustment filter added.
